The distribution of a Japanese-language newsp per cmong the Japanese P.0.W.'s and internees in the Colony is continuing. The paper is called "THL NEW JAFIN REPORTER" and is cormiled from arterial prey red and translated into Japanese in the Political Warfare office in HONG KONG. The actual production and reproduction of the paper are handled by former members of the Japanese DO EI staff in HONG KONG, now interned at WHITFIELD Barracks.
About 2,000 copies each were printed of the first two issues, deted respectively October 12th and 17th. Of the third issue, dated October 25th, about 4,000 copies were printed, which permitted of one copy being distributed to roughly every five P.0.1.'s and internees. It is intended to maintain this socle of distraction.
The paper is printed on both sides of a single sheet. On the face appears "News from Japan" and "orld News", while the back pnge is devoted to a weekly article on topics cclculated to inpress the Japanese with the depths of degradation to which they have fallen in the eyes of the world through their Imperialistic policy.
The practice of providing a locally-produced Japanese newspaper is to be disconti: ued by the Political Warfare office as soon as regular supplies of a properly printed Japanese newspaper begin arriving in the Colony from SINGAPORE.
